A new creation

After a two year sentence at Sandy Mush Correctional Facility, I started talking with the chaplains about different ways I could change my life for the better. I met Ms. Carole, and Ms. Gina when they came into the Dorm. They prayed over me and prayed with me for my children to be comforted while I’m not there. They let me know that everything was going to be okay, as long as I was willing and made different choices.

I applied for the Rescue Mission Hope for Women program so I could go there when I got released. Two weeks later I was accepted into the program, and I am still here. I now have a strong relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and have been broke free of my old chains that stopped me from the healing that I needed to get better and never go back.

I am so grateful that Gina comes to the women’s program weekly and teaches a Bible study I am a new creation and thankful to the chaplains for their love and support when I didn’t feel I deserved it.
